ICYMI: Luke Combs Surprises Category 10 Crowd

  • By Lane Vaughn

Friday night, Category 10 lived up to its name as the Home of Combs, when Luke Combs surprised fans with an unexpected, four-song performance at his downtown Nashville bar.

Luke’s longtime backing band, The Wild Cards, took the stage at 9:30 PM. Little did they know, Luke was already in the building—hanging out in The Still, the venue’s whiskey bar, just out of sight.

As they launched into Huntin’ By Yourself,” a familiar voice came in from somewhere backstage…and then Luke himself stepped onto the Hurricane Hall stage to surprise the band, and the crowd went wild. They continued with “Fast Car,” “When It Rains It Pours,” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” turning an already electric night into an unforgettable one.

After the surprise set, Luke returned to The Still to hang with friends, capping off a moment that captured exactly what Category 10 was built for — giving fans a place where Luke’s music lives, and where Luke himself just might show up.

Because this is the Home of Combs, and this is what memories are made of.
