Laura D.’s Hat: I16

On July 25, 2022, Luke and the team made a dying girl’s wish come true at the Buckeye Country Music Superfest in Ohio. I never got to meet Addi in person and learn of her families struggles. Luke brought her on stage in front of 60,000 fans who sang her favorite song to her, “Better Together.” She was fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia and only 17 years old. His gracious gesture to grant her this wish helped spotlight childhood cancer and her raw battle to win. Sadly, Addi, lost her battle on October 12, 2022…one day after her 18th birthday. This hat is more than a hat. It represents an ongoing battle to beat childhood cancer, Leukemia and Addi’s memory. I am sure her family will never forget watching her dream of coming to your show (and going on stage was an added bonus) and her huge smile. More awareness, donations and financial support were a direct result of this amazing show. Thank you Luke! I never met Addi but I feel very close to her still and think of her often.
