Michael M.’s Hat: M18

My hat got me through the last 4 years. In May 2020, my life was flipped upside down. I went in for a simple gallbladder procedure and ended up staying a month in the hospital, eventually leaving in heart failure. I’ve had 3 heart surgeries in 4 years. I’ve been shocked by an AED 19 times. I couldn’t fly, so my only option is to drive to get somewhere. So, Nashville is a bucket list item for me. I wore that hat to cardiac rehab every day, and I was determined to beat my heart condition. It was rough. In April 2021, I was given 3 months to live! I overcame that and I’m finally healthy. Over the last 9 months, I’ve lost 120 pounds. Luke’s music got me through hell and back. The song “Doin’ This” was my anthem. The days I wanted to quit, or the doctors were saying this or that, I would listen to it, shed some tears, and it would motivate me to get better.
