Hudson Valley is a female-fronted band that blends country vocals with a rock-infused sound—delivered with a healthy dash of sass, courtesy of lead singer Sarah Owens. After moving to Nashville in 2018 from her home state of New York, Owens quickly found a group of musical kindred spirits. With Richie Owens on drums, Andrew Kosek on bass, and Matthew Farinelli on guitar, the foursome combined their rock and country influences to craft a sound that is authentically and uniquely Hudson Valley.
In May 2019, Hudson Valley’s EP Seven debuted at #17 on the iTunes Country Album Chart. Their debut single, Can’t Have Nothin’ Nice, gave them their first taste of country radio after being picked up by Radio Disney Country. Their 2020 single, (Unmistakable Signs of a) Bad Boyfriend, continued to gain traction, climbing to #41 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart.
By early 2021, Hudson Valley’s Right Place Now made its country radio debut, surpassing their previous releases and reaching #39 on the chart. Undiscovered Nashville praised the track, stating, “After their EP Seven, I wasn’t sure how they could improve on that effort, but Right Place Now did just that! Sarah Owens’ vocal talent is undeniable.”
You can catch Hudson Valley playing at Ole Red almost every week. Be sure to follow @OfficialHudsonValley on all social media platforms—this group is creating quite a buzz up and down Music Row.
