Max Muscato lives for the underdog. His journey is nothing short of extraordinary—surviving
suicide, addiction, and the trials of growing up with a single father and an absent mother, all
while caring for an autistic addict brother and struggling to survive on the streets of Washington,
D.C. Through it all, Max has transformed his adversity into powerful music that defies
victimhood, embracing and confronting his demons head-on. Max is asking the question: Are
you the hero in your life?
With a distinctive sound that blends John Mayer’s soulful depth with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’
energetic edge, Max has captivated audiences and secured opening slots with bands like
Theory Of A Deadman, Finger Eleven, Cam Cole, and Andrew Cushin. His upcoming singles,
“Heaviness” and “Lunatic,” slated for release in 2025, promise to continue his trend of bold,
impactful music.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Max is the founder of the Rock Autism Music Festival and the
creator and writer of “Sonnyboy,” a film that offers an authentic glimpse into his family dynamics
and the relentless effort needed to succeed in the music industry. His deeply personal songs,
inspired by his brother’s struggles with autism and addiction, drive his artistic passion and
activism. Proceeds from his festival support Rock Autism programs, helping individuals with
autism forge careers in music and film, furthering Max’s mission to turn personal battles into
broader triumphs.
